Volunteer
Goodwill has a variety of group and individual volunteer opportunities and we can even customize a program specifically for you. We are looking forward to learning more about you or your group and having you join us!
- Career Center Instructors/Teachers: As a volunteer instructor you have the opportunity to teach a variety of classes and workshops from basic computer tutorials to dress for success classes.
- General Career Center Volunteer: At our career centers you can use your skills to help individuals with their job search.
- Interns: Area college students can gain hands-on experience in their field of study by becoming a Goodwill intern.
- Group/Corporate Volunteers: Do you want to volunteer alongside your friends or coworkers? Let us customize an activity or job-a-thon for you and your team.
- Placement Call Volunteer: Help us contact job seekers, who have used our services, to confirm if they have a job or invite them to continue to use our services. This activity is great for individuals and groups — and it helps us stay connected with job seekers.
- Special Events and Projects: We host a variety of events at Goodwill. Volunteers help us plan and run events or assist with job fair and community outreach programs. We also have special projects that allow volunteers to share their skills in administration, project management and research and development. We would love to put your skills to work!

Our AmeriCorps Goodwill GoodWorks! Program is an opportunity to serve your community by helping Goodwill meet the local needs of people with barriers to employment through career training, job placement, and resource connections.
Thousands of individuals and families continue to be impacted by the economic fallout due to the coronavirus pandemic. You will help better the lives of economically disadvantaged individuals by removing barriers in their progression to self-sufficiency, specifically by helping them obtain meaningful and productive employment.
Thanks to our partnership with Volunteer Florida, about 20 applicants are chosen to serve as AmeriCorps members at Goodwill each year. These members dedicate a year of service to alleviate poverty in Tallahassee and Panama City, Florida.
Service: Our AmeriCorps program is an opportunity to serve the local needs of the Tallahassee and Panama City communities. Serve individuals with barriers gain career training, job placement, and resource connections. Receive a modest living allowance while you serve!
Experience: Gain experience as you serve in a team ready to support you and your goals! Professional development is at the forefront of your personal experience as an AmeriCorps member. Flexible & Part-Time options available. Make connections of a lifetime!
Education Award: Earn an education award at the end of successful a successful term of service. You can use the award to repay qualified student loans and to pay current educational expenses at eligible institutions of higher education and training programs.

AmeriCorps Member Highlight
London Thomas dedicated a year to service in Tallahassee. She had committed to serve 900 hours during this year. She is a Resource Connector and works daily to connect Tallahassee community members with resources.
In November, London organized a Thanksgiving Food Drive that fed over 65 families in the Tallahassee area. Thanks to her effort and organization families were fed on this very special holiday.
