Halloween Means Candy & Costumes: Not Even COVID-19 Can Change That!
Did you know that this year’s Halloween not only falls on a Saturday, but we’ll also gaze into the sky at a blue moon?! This rare super moon comes around once every 18 or 19 years on Halloween – how fitting for the year 2020, right? Halloween always means two things – candy and costumes – something that not even COVID-19 can change.
Halloween is more important than ever this year
Why? Because families and children need a sense of normalcy and need something to look forward to. Goodwill can get you in the Halloween spirit for less. From costumes (New and Do-It-Yourself), to movies, décor, and more, stop by your local Goodwill to get everything you need to keep this year’s Halloween safe and spooky.
Halloween Movie Marathon
Halloween is right around the corner! Toss some Halloween candy into your popcorn because a spooky movie marathon awaits! Whether it’s Hocus Pocus, Beetlejuice, Charlie Brown, or all three – there’s no better way to enjoy your hard-earned candy than with a Halloween movie. Did you know Goodwill sells movies and books you can enjoy this Halloween starting at just $1? This year’s celebrations may look different than years past, but two things will always remain the same: great movies and relying on your local Goodwill to have them for less. Even if a Halloween movie marathon isn’t your go-to for this year’s celebrations, we still encourage you to keep up the Halloween spirit! It’s important during times of uncertainty that we find ways to keep ourselves and our families staying positive. We wish you all a spooky, safe Halloween.

Safety definitely comes first this year, and nothing says “safe but spooky” quite like a DIY face mask! Of all the days we’ve had to wear face coverings for safety reasons alone, go all-out this Halloween by adding a little spunk and spook to your mask. This activity is fantastic for families during their #QuarantineHalloween as a way to entertain the kids with a hands-on project.
Whether their go-to decoration is glitter, fake blood, or layered fabric, this one-of-a-kind mask will serve as the perfect Halloween fashion statement!
