Give back this Giving Tuesday, because now is always the perfect time to support the community and give back with Goodwill! Our mission at Goodwill Big Bend is to provide training, placement, support, and opportunities to anyone that needs it. With the help of our donors, shoppers, and community partners, we were able to serve over 10,000 people in the community with education, training, and jobs in 2021. There are so many ways to give back with Goodwill, keep reading to learn more about how you can help.

Give a Gift from Goodwill

Goodwill is stocked with brand new goods that can make the perfect gifts for friends and family this year! Not only will you be saving money with Goodwill’s amazing prices, but 87 cents of every dollar from your purchase goes toward funding important community initiatives that directly assist individuals with barriers to employment.

Don’t Dump It, Donate It!

Don’t toss your old things, bring them into a local Goodwill where they will receive a new life, and you can rest easy knowing you have reduced waste in landfills and supported our programs that give back to the community. On average, one donation provides 3 hours of workforce training for individuals in this community through our programs and services, and in the last year alone, Goodwill assisted in keeping 22 million pounds of donations out of landfills in the Big Bend. All the more reason to donate.

Show Support at Super Suds

Super Suds is one of the only full-service car washes in Tallahassee and provides job training and employment for more than fifty individuals at our two locations in Tallahassee. If you’re in need of a car wash, come to one of Super Suds’ two locations to help support our efforts in developing others to their full potential and in empowering individuals through the power of work and training. This can also be the perfect way to give a nice gesture to a friend or family member by taking their car to get washed while supporting the community.

Support Education in the Community

Donations from our community all aid in making our amazing programs possible, including The Learning Pavilion and eLearning courses. The Learning Pavilion is a smart-play preschool that strives to be inclusive for all children and uses a play-based curriculum that emphasizes self-worth, capability, and school readiness.

We focus on assisting children to develop the social and communication skills needed to work and play cooperatively and are currently building two more classrooms to meet the current needs of parents. Goodwill also offers over a dozen certification courses that are free to those in the Big Bend community.
